Swansea City vs Southampton

Premier League action has a full slate of mid-week games after the weekend’s FA Cup fourth round ties. Swansea, hoping to keep themselves out of the relegation zone, host Southampton at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans have shown signs of improvement since Paul Clement took over from Bob Bradley at the turn of the year. The new manager earned his biggest win so far last time out in the Premier League, beating Liverpool 3-2 at Anfield. The result showed Swansea’s new found resilience, but also served as a reminder that there are serious defensive frailties in the squad.

Southampton, meanwhile, sit in 11th place on 27 points after 22 games. They’ve been disappointing in the league recently, but a stirring League Cup semifinal victory against Liverpool last week has given Saints fans plenty to cheer about. Southampton have struggled in front of goal since Charlie Austin went down injured, but will be hoping to rediscover their attacking mojo against a weak Swans defense.

The Premier League match between Bournemouth and Crystal Palace will be broadcast online only. Live streaming is available on NBCSports, which you can access with your cable or satellite subscriptions, either online or through the NBC Sports app.

Date: Tuesday, Jan. 31
Start time:  2:45 p.m. ET
Location: Swansea, Wales
Stadium: Liberty Stadium
TV Info: Online only
Live Stream: NBCSports

Southampton may be slight favorites on paper, but they have little to play for — they’re not getting relegated and have no chance at a Champions League spot. That could leave the door open for Swansea, who finally have something to build on after their win at Anfield, and will be desperate to keep moving in the right direction.
